KQ3- Why is each point on Earth unique?

Today in class we learned about the different types of regions.

These different types of regions consisted of a regular region, a formal region, a functional region, and a vernacular region.

Region- A region is defined by it's uniform or human characteristics, this is a larger collection of places.

Formal Region- This is an area that is defined by very clean boundaries

Functional Region- This is also known as nodal regions, this usually encompasses a central point with defined boundaries and the area around it is connected, a well developed network of transportations and communication systems that facilitate the movement of people, goods, and ideas within that system

Vernacular Region- This is also known as a perceptional region, this is then places share some of the same characteristics, people put these together even though they are different and not always next to each other on the map, we imagine these places being bound by an imaginary border.
